Born in Brno, Czech Republic (1921-2000) A Czech sculptor, of Jewish origin, fled from the Czech Republic after the Nazi invasion, and fought against the Germans in the Czech army in exile. After the war he returned to Prague, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in the city. In 1948, following the communist takeover, he left the Czech Republic again and moved to England where he continued his studies. Sculpted many historical figures, but also abstract sculptures.
