Born in Berlin, Germany (1896-1965), immigrated to Israel in 1933. He worked mainly in Jerusalem, where he applied the principles of international style (Bauhaus). Participated in the planning of the master plan for the city of Jerusalem after the establishment of the State of Israel. He was a partner in the planning of the Hebrew University campus in Givat Ram, and designed a number of buildings there (the best known is the synagogue on campus)
