was born in Warsaw, Poland (1911-1987). Immigrated to Israel in 1949. He studied sculpture in his hometown, Warsaw, and later at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, France. During World War II, he fled to Bialystok, which was then under Soviet control. There he sculpted mostly figures of Russian personalities. Upon immigrating to Israel, he concentrated on sculpture related to the Holocaust and heroism. In 1959 he moved to the United States and has since divided his time between Israel and the home countries.
