Born in Vienna, Austria (1890-1954), immigrated to Israel in 1924. One of the most important architects in Israel of the early twentieth century and a pioneer of the modern current in Israel. He studied architecture in Vienna, where he also worked until the First World War, after which he immigrated to Israel. Worked mainly in Jerusalem, but also in Haifa and various kibbutzim. He was a member of the committee that chose the emblem of the State of Israel. In addition to his work as an architect he was also known as a painter, specializing mainly in landscape paintings of the Jerusalem area, figures and nature paintings.
