Born in Kharkov, Ukraine (1919-1989), immigrated to Israel in 1924. Painter and sculptor, but better known as a writer (among his books: Requiem for Na’aman, Minutaur,, and many more). Tamuz was also the editor of the children’s newspaper "Ha’aretz Shelanu" and was a member of the Ha’aretz system and edited the culture and art supplement. Winner of the Zeev Prize for Children’s and Youth Literature in 1972 At his place of residence on Ha-Rav Levi Yitskhak Street, Tel Aviv, there is a commemorative sign
