Born in Olsztyn, Poland (then Prussia-Germany) (1887-1953), left Germany when the Nazis came to power (1933) and stayed in Israel and England, until 1941 when he moved to the United States where he stayed until his death. . Studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and that of Munich (1908-1912). Already in Germany he designed a number of well-known buildings, including the Einstein Tower in Potsdam, and the chain of stores of Shlomo Zalman Schocken in Germany (Schocken department store - Kaufhaus Schocken). In Israel, he designed a number of famous buildings, including: Beit Haim Weizmann in Rehovot , other buildings at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Hadassah Hospital - Mount Scopus, and Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
