כ"ג יורדי הסירה
במקום הזה חונכו ואומנו ימאי ה"הגנה", צבא המדינה שבדרך, ובהם ראשוני הפלוגה הימית של הפלמ"ח (הפלי"ם) - מובילי ספינות המעפילים ארצה ומייסדי חיל הים.
מכאן יצאו ב-18 במאי, 1941, כ"ג יורדי הסירה, שהפליגו בספינת "ארי הים" מחיפה, בלוויית קצין קישור בריטי, לפעולת חבלה במתקני הדלק שבחוף טריפולי בלבנון, הנתונה לשלטון פרו-נאצי.
הלוחמים לא שבו וגורלם לא נודע.

Hagana seamen received training here, including the first members of the Palmach’s maritime unit (known as the Palyam) - who later captained ships that brought illegal immigrants to the country and were among the founders of the Israel Navy.
On May 18, 1941, 23 seamen, accompanied by Major Sir Anthony Palmer, a British liaison officer, set sail from this spot on board the "Sea Lion."
Their mission was to sabotage oil installations located on the shore of Tripoli in Lebanon, then under the rule of a pro-Nazi regime.
The seamen never returned and their fate remains unknown.
