On the sign:
Harington Club
Here lived EDMUND RACK A pioneer of scientific agriculture. Founder in 1777 of The Bath & West of England Society
The house where the writer of non-fiction books, mainly on agriculture, Edmund Rack (1735-1787), who also founded associations for the improvement and development of agriculture, lived. The sign is on the wall of the pub The Harington Club, a pub that has existed since 1874 and is located where Rack lived. Although at the bottom of the sign there is a symbol that usually belongs to The logo of the English Heritage Trust (for example Click for sign's details), this sign does not seem to belong to the signs belonging to this association.
