The wall of Wall of Philip II Augustus, King of France was the oldest wall of Paris. It was built during the struggle between the King of France and the House of Plantagenet (the royal house that ruled England in the 12th to 14th centuries and is of French origin). The king who went on the Crusades, feared a raid on the city, and ordered a wall to be built to protect it. The sign also indicates the gates that were there, the years in which they were erected, and those in which they were destroyed.
