THE MAIN GUARDHOUSE 1788
Built to the order of the Master-General of the Ordnance. Up to 1844 security at Royal Arsenal was provided by the Army, then by the Metropolitan Police until the War Department Constabulary, now the Ministry of Defence Police, took over in 1927.
The Royal Arsenal area is located on the south bank of the Thames in the Woolwich area, an area that was used to make weapons, armor and more, mainly in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The building that is currently used as a pub was photographed that day by the same photographer Click for a larger image
Another sign indicating the building as being in the listed building of Great Britain is found next to this sign Click for sign's details ב
