Comments:
On the plaques on pillars surrounding the memorial to the crew members of the Russian battleship "Russalka", the names of the sailors who perished in her sinking.

The Russian ship sailed in 1893 from Tallinn to Helsinki. In the stormy weather the ship sank and all 177 crew members drowned.

The monument with an angel holding an Orthodox cross facing the direction of the ship’s voyage was made by Amandus Adamson and placed in 1902

The monument was photographed that day by the same photographer Click for a larger image Click for a larger image
