Memorial plaque to Fredrik Henrik af Chapman Swedish shipbuilder (1721-1808), considered the first to introduce scientific methods in shipbuilding. Among other things, he built the Archipelago fleet, the naval part of the Swedish army designed to protect the coast of Sweden. In Suomenlinna there was a "dry dock" where ships were built between 1750-1808 under the supervision of Chapman, he was also involved in the establishment of Sveaborg, the Helsinki naval base.
The plaque was placed on the 200th anniversary of his birth and is written in the Finnish language. Next to it is an identical sign in the Swedish language, taken by the same photographer on the same day
