אלוף אריאל שרון (2014-1928) Gen. Ariel Sharon (1928-2014)
ראש הממשלה ה-11 של מדינת ישראל בנה וחנך את מיזם נתב"ג 2000 הפסל: לוי שוחט
Israel’s 11th Prime Minister, built Ben Gurion Airport 2000 and dedicated the new terminal. Sculptor: Levi Shochat
The statue commemorates Ariel (Arik) Sharon (1928-2014), the Prime Minister of Israel, in whose first term Terminal 3 of Ben Gurion Airport was inaugurated (2004). Arik Sharon was also known as a well-known military general, and as the one who successfully crossed the Suez Canal in the Yom Kippur War, when he was the commander of the Southern Command, a move that many believe changed the course of the war. Indeed, the statue shows Ariel Sharon with a bandage on his head (a well-known image from the Yom Kippur War) and with the ranks of Major General.
