Welcome Kibbutz Sarid was founded in 1926 by two pioneer groups: the Lithuanian ’Achava’ from the ’Halutz’ movement and the Czech ’Bibracha’ from the ’Blue and White’ movement. The kibbutz is named after the biblical city of Sarid, which is mentioned in the book of Joshua 19, 10: "And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families; and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid."
