The sign is on the wall of the house where the Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz (1855-1798) lived, one of Poland’s greatest poets, who was also the leader of the Polish immigrants who stayed in Paris. He lived in the house when his famous work Pan Tadeusz was published - a poem dealing with the life of the rural aristocracy in Poland and Lithuania
