The Palm Fountain or Victory Fountain is a fountain commemorating the victories of Napoleon Bonaparte. The fountain and the column on it were placed in 1808, which was also intended to provide drinking water to the population (additional to the commemoration of Napoleon) The fountain is the tallest of those built during Napoleon’s time and still exists. The name of the fountain comes from the palm leaves that decorate the top of the column. The fountain is designated as a historical heritage site of France
On the column appear main battles in which Napoleon won, at his head is a bronze statue holding the victory wreath (Taken several months later) Click for a larger image
