STATUE BELIEVED TO BE OF THE ROMAN EMPEROR TRAJAN. AD 98-174 ’IMPERATOR CAESAR NERVA TRAJANUS AUGUSTUS’ PRESENTED BY THE TOWER HILL IMPROVEMENT TRUST AT THE REQUEST OF THE REVEREND P.B CLAYTON CH MC, DD, FOUNDER PADRE OF TOC H
The statue of the Roman Emperor Trajan is in front of the London Wall. It was placed in 1980, and is a copy of a statue from the first century AD, which was found in a scrap yard in 1920. It should be noted that the head does not match the rest of the body.
The Wall of London was built by the Romans around 200 AD. The emperor Trajan who reigned before, is considered a good emperor during which the Roman Empire reached the peak of its expansion.
