גרמניה 1897 - ישראל 1987

נולדה בשם גרט קאופמן למשפחה של "גרמנים בני דת משה". בסיום לימודיה באוניברסיטת לייפציג בגרמניה עלתה לארץ ישראל עם בן זוגה, ליאו קדמן.

ערכה פסטיבלים לריקודי עם בכפר הנוער בן שמן, הדריכה להקות וחוגי ריקוד במסגרת אגודת הספורט "הפועל" בתל־אביב ויזמה את הקורס הראשון להדרכת ריקודי עם בסמינר הקיבוצים.

בשנות ה-50 למדה את ריקודי העדות של העליות השונות ותיעדה בהסרטה ובהקלטה את הריקודים המסורתיים ואת התלבושות. אלו הצטרפו לריקודים שלמדה כילדה ולאלו שהכירה בשהותה בקיבוצים.

לכל רחוב יש שם, ולכל שם יש סיפור והישגים, שמשפיעים על החיים של כולנו. אבל כמה מאיתנו באמת מכירות ומכירים את הדמויות שמאחורי שמות הרחובות?
גם היום מעט מדי נשים מונצחות ברחובות העיר והעירייה פועלת לתיקון העוול ולהצבת הנשים ופועלן בקדמת הבמה. נשים שהשאירו את חותמן על החברה ושל הציבוריות הישראלית בתחומים שונים.
שבוע ’במלוא הדרה’ מעלה על נס נשים מעוררות השראה. שזכו להכרה ולהוקרה באמצעות קריאת רחוב על שמן.

Gurit Kadman
Choreographer, originator of the Israeli folk dance movement, winner of the Israel Prize in Dance Culture

Germany 1897 - Israel 1987

She was born as Gert Kaufman to a family of "Germans of the religion of Moses". At the end of her studies at the University of Leipzig in Germany, she immigrated to Israel with her partner, Leo Kadman.

Organized folk dance festivals in the Ben Shemen youth village, instructed bands and dance classes within the "Hapoel" sports association in Tel Aviv and initiated the first folk dance instruction course at the kibbutzim seminary.

In the 1950s, she learned the dances of the various Aliya tribes and documented the traditional dances and costumes on film and tape. These joined the dances she learned as a child and those she got to know during her stay in the kibbutzim.
