The street whose name is translated as Button Street, was in the past (around the 17th century AD) the seat of various artists’ guilds, including the tailors’ guild. The drawing on the sign shows a tailor at work, as well as drawings of various buttons.

The sign was painted by Alfredo Ruiz de Luna Gonzalez
