הבית נבנה על ידי משפחת שרלה (Scheerle). דייריו הבאים היו יוהאן גאורג ואליזבת ולר (Weller), שחילקו את המבנה בשנות השלושים לדירות נפרדות למטרת השכרה. בראשית 1948 הוצב בבניין מטה גדוד הפורצים, הגדוד הרביעי של הפלמ"ח בחטיבת הראל. לאחר קום המדינה שכנו בבניין אגף המסחר במשרד המסחר, התעשייה והאספקה, השלמייה (הגזברות) הצבאיתהראשית ומחלקת ההדרכה של צה"ל.

The house was built by the Scheerle family. The next residents were Johann Georg and Elisabeth Weller, who divided the structure in the 1930s into apartments for rental. At the beginning of 1948, the building housed the headquarters of the Haportzim (Breakthrough) Battalion, the fourth battalion of the Palmach Harel Brigade. After independence it housed the commerce branch of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Supply; afterwards, it was used by the offices of the payment department and the training department of the IDF General Staff

قامت بإنشاء هذا البيت عائلة شيرلي ، ثم حل فيه يوهان غيورغ وإليزابيت فيلر ، واللذان قسماه إلى ثلاث شقق منفردة خلال الثلاثينات ، بهدف الإيجار . وفي أوائل سنة ۱۹٤۸ ، حلت في المبنى قيادة كتيبة " هبورتسيم " ، وهي الكتيبة الرابعة للبالماح ضمن لواء " هارئيل " . وبعد قيام الدولة ، أصبح البيت يؤوي شعبة التجارة التابعة لوزارة التجارة والصناعة والتموين ، وقسم الأموال الرئيسي لجيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي ، وقسم الإرشاد التابع للجيش .
