The statue of the one who was Britain’s Minister of War during the Crimean War, and the one who, being a friend of Florence Nightingale, convinced her to act in the Crimean War as a nurse in Turkey, something that eventually brought her publication.
The statue, made by J. H. Foley, was placed in 1867 near the War Office in Pall Mall, and was moved to its present location in 1914.
