The statue standing in front of the Temple of Theseus Click for sign's details Made by Josef Müllner, and placed in 1921. One of the hypotheses for the existence of the statue is that it is a memorial to the athletes who fell in the First World War. Another hypothesis is that the erection of the statue was a response to the attempt to boycott Austrian and German athletes after the First World War, noting that Austrian sports are alive and well
