The sign is on the wall of the building where the body established by the Vichy government (the French government that cooperated with the Nazis), the office for dealing with Jewish affairs, was located.

Translation of the text on the sign:
From 1941 to 1944, this building housed the General Commission for Jewish Affairs. instrument of the anti-Semitic policy of the French state of Vichy.

This plaque is dedicated to the memory of the Jews of France who were victims of this policy.
