The plaque is on the wall of Westminster Council House and was put up in 1995 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Allied victory over Japan in World War II. VJ day - the day of victory over Japan in World War II.
There is another sign on the building, indicating the year the building was opened: THIS BUILDING WAS OPENED BY H.R.H THE PRINCE ALBERT K.G. ON THE 27TH DAY OF MARCH 1920
