The statue commemorates the famous German composer Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), who from 1862 lived in Vienna. The statue was made by the Austrian sculptor Rudolf Weyr and was placed in 1908. In the statue Brahms is seen sitting on a bench, and at the bottom you can see the muse Uterpa playing the lyre.
