The statue commemorates the literary character of the detective Sherlock Holmes, who, according to Arthur Conan Doyle’s books, lived and worked at 221B Baker Street. The statue is in front of Baker Street tube station. The statue, which rises to a height of 3 meters, was made by John Doubleday, and was placed in 1999.
