The sign is in the house where the Special Operations Executive (SOE) planned the attack on the heavy water plant located in the town of Rjukan, Telemark province in Norway. There have been a number of attacks designed to paralyze Nazi Germany’s nuclear project. The first guerrilla operations in 1942 failed, but in 1943, a Norwegian commando team managed to destroy the factory.
