Biberman Houses - typical Protective Wall
The Biberman Houses were built in 1945-1946. Reinforced concrete protective walls were erected and staircase windows were sealed with sandbags. During the siege of Jerusalem, convoy drivers were housed here. Very few of these protective walls which were constructed throughout the city have survived, hence their importance regarding the commemoration of Israel’s Independence.
