הבאר הראשונה

הבאר הראשונה במושבה נחפרה במקום בו עובר היום רחוב שברץ, מול בי"ס דקל. הבאר הוקמה בשנת 1922, סמוך לעלייה על הקרקע של חברי אגודת "אחוזה א - ניו יורק". החפירה נעשתה ע"י יעקב ינטל, שהיה חופר בארות ובונה בריכות מקצועי. את המים מן הבאר העלו בעזרת משאבה פשוטה. כעבור זמן קצר התמוטטו קירות הבאר והיא נסתמה. במרחק קטן מן המקום (ברחוב עקיבא 22) נחפרה באר שניה ששימשה את המושבה כ-50 שנה. על יד מקום הבאר הראשונה הוקם מחסן קטן, אשר שימש את חברי ארגון "ההגנה" כמקום לאימונים בנשק וכן היה בו "סליק" (מחבוא נשק).

The first well

The first well in the colony was excavated on the site where Shebretz Street passes today, in front of Dekel School. The well was established in 1922, near the beginning of the settlement of the members of the "Ahuza A - New York" association. The excavation was done by Yaakov Yantel, who was a well digger and a professional pool builder. The water from the well was raised with a simple pump. The walls of the well soon collapsed and it became clogged. 50 years. A small warehouse was set up near the site of the first well, which was used by members of the Haganah organization as a place for weapons training and also had a "slick" (weapons hideout).
