Cercis siliquastrum

Redbud (Judas Tree)
Cercis siliquastrum

Natural range: Eastern Mediterranean, Iran, Israel

A whirlwind of color: Pink-violet flowers cloak the leafless early-spring branches and trunk. Flowers then wither and fall as deep green leaves appear. Bright red seed pods turn brown and hang on, long after autumn leaves turn yellow and drop.

Click for sign's details מה דעתך ?

[a question]
Some say this tree’s spring bloom is the greatest "work of art" on campus, greater even than Henry Moore’s nearby sculpture, Draped Seated Figure: Click for sign's details What do you think?

[The fourth face of the cube]

[The Answer to the question]
Most visitors would agree that both the blooming redbud and the nearby Moore sculpture greatly enhance the campus. Something to think about: Compare how each of these two objects relates spatially to its immediate surroundings.
