דליקה גדולה בשפיים
דליקה גדולה פרצה אתמול בצהרים בקיבוץ שפיים. חדר האוכל, המטבח ומחסן המצרכים וכל מה שהיה בתוכם עלו באש. האש אחזה ראשונה במגדל הסולר פרצה למטבח ולחדר האוכל ופשטה משם במהירות עצומה. חביות הנפט שעמדו בחצר התפוצצו. אנשי המקום נזעקו לפעולות הכיבוי ולעזרתם באו גם מכבי אש מתל אביב. אחר עמל רב הצליחו לאתר את האש. הנזק נאמד בכמה אלפי לירות. חברי שפיים שנשארו בלי חדר אוכל ובלי כלי בישול אכלו אתמול תחת כיפת השמים. עדיין לא נתבררה סיבת הדליקה.

Large fire in Shefayim
A large fire broke out yesterday afternoon at Kibbutz Shefayim. The dining room, the kitchen and the grocery store and everything inside were on fire. The fire first gripped the diesel tower and broke into the kitchen and dining room and spread from there with tremendous speed. The barrels of oil in the yard exploded. Locals were called to the fire and firefighters from Tel Aviv also came to their aid. After much toil they managed to locate the fire. The damage is estimated at several thousand pounds. Shefayim members who were left without a dining room and without cooking utensils ate outdoors yesterday. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
