Beit Harishonim Established: By the founders of Petah Tikva in the years 1882-1884
Restored: by the late architect Moshe Ben-Horin in 1972
This building is the only and last remnant of the group of houses erected on this site after the fever epidemic that killed many of the settlers of Petah Tikva
The houses were used by the settlers before their return to the colony itself. The place was attacked several times by the Arabs of the area and then everyone went out: men and for the first time also women and children, to repel the attackers. During the restoration, many bullets were found in the walls of the building and the yard.
The story of the Jewish settlement in this place is a triangle:
This place is first mentioned three thousand years ago as "Yehud" in the book of Joshua, chapter 19 verses40-45: "The seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. And the border of their inheritance was Zorah, ... and Jehud, and Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon
Second, this place was called "Yehud" - Yehudiya during the founding period of Petah Tikva one hundred years ago (1878)
And thirdly, this place is used for a Jewish settlement called "Savyon"
