"And Eternal Life He implanted within us" (blessing on reading the Torah).
This is the original site of Old Jerusalem’s largest yeshiva. All age groups – from young children to the elderly have studied here since 1876.

The yeshiva quickly outgrew its premises and opened more branches in the Moslem Quarter and in the New City. During the 1936 riots, the branch in the Moslem Quarter was closed. Torah studies, continued in this building until the Quarter’s fall during the- War of Independence (1948). The building was renovated in 1967, and studies were resumed here.
