Click for a larger image On the monument that looks like a collapsing wall, the United States flag is engraved. Behind the monument, metal plaques with the names of those who perished in the 9/11 attacks (2980 people).
The base of the monument was taken from the skeleton of one of the twin towers, and on it is written:
This section of metal was taken from the ruins of the "Twin Towers" that collapsed in the September 11, 2001 disaster.
It was transferred to Israel on behalf of the City of New York, for inclusion in the base of this statue.
This section, like the entire site, indicates the special connection between the city of New York and Jerusalem, and out of gratitude to the Jewish National Fund, on whose initiative and with the help of donations, this monument was erected.
