מגדל המים והביטחון
בשנות ה-30 התברר שמחסור במים מעכב את התפתחות המושבה. באסיפת ועד מיוחדת הוחלט על הקמת הקואופרטיב "באר", והוא מנהל את אספקת המים בגדרה עד היום. בשנת 1935 הוקם מגדל מים בן שלוש קומות: הראשונה שימשה כיתת לימוד, ולאחר מכן חדר המורים של בית הספר הסמוך; השנייה שימשה חדר נשק של משטרת הנוטרים; והשלישית שימשה מתקן מים. גג המגדל שימש עמדת תצפית ושמירה, ופעמון המושבה הוצב בו לאזעקה בשעת חרום.

The Water and Guard Tower
In the 1930s it became clear that a lack of water delaying Gedera’s development. At a meeting of its governing committee it was decided to establish a cooperative, Be’er ("Well"), which administers the town’s water supply to this day. In 1935, a three-story water tower was built. The ground floor was used as a classroom, and later as the teacher’s lounge for the nearby school; the second floor was used as a weapons room for the Notrim, the Jewish police force under the Mandate, and the third floor was for water storage. The roof was used as a lookout and guard post, and the moshava’s alarm bell was installed there.
