הקמת ההסתדרות הכללית
לאור נרות החנוכה דצמבר 1920, התקיימה בטכניון שבחיפה, ועידת היסוד של ההסתדרות. בוועידה זו השתתפו 87 צירים, בהם: יצחק בן צבי, ברל כצנלסון, דוד רמז, דב הוז, יוסף שפרינצק, ישראל ומניה שוחט, לוי שקולניק (אשכול) ואחרים.

"בתוצאותיה של ועידה זו תלוי גורלנו בארץ", אמר יוסף ברץ בפתח הוועידה. הייתה זו שעת כושר היסטורית שבה הוחלט להקים מסגרת חברתית, על מפלגתית, שתהפוך להיות התשתית הארגונית והחברתית להקמת בית לאומי בארץ ישראל - "המדינה שבדרך"

Establishment of the Histadrut
In light of the Hanukkah candles, December 1920, the Histadrut’s founding conference was held at the Technion in Haifa. 87 delegates participated in this conference, including: Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, Berl Katzenelson, David Remez, Dov Hoz, Yosef Shprintzak, Israel and Mania Shochat, Levy Shkolnik (Eshkol) and others.

"The fate of this country depends on the outcome of this conference," Yosef Baretz said at the beginning of the conference. It was a historic opportunity in which it was decided to establish a social, supra-party framework, which would become the organizational and social infrastructure for the establishment of a national home in the Land of Israel - "Israel’s pre-State"
