The symbol of the city of Givatayim
Uri Dushy "Between Two Hills" Wall of art marking eighty years of Givatayim
Artist Uri Dushy, a native of Givatayim, created a permanent exhibition in the citys 80th anniversary that explores its development since the establishment of the first neighborhood, the Borochov neighborhood, in 1922 until it became a prosperous green city, an island of quality of life in the heart of the metropolis.
The Givatayim Local Council was founded in 1942 and consolidated its six neighborhoods: "Borochov neighborhood", "Shenkin neighborhood", "Kiryat Yosef", "Rambam neighborhood", "Arlozorov neighborhood" and "Railway workers neighborhood". In 1959, Givatayim was declared as a city in Israel.
The exhibition includes 16 photocopies, an artistic technique that combines oil-painting, past archives and present photography.
This exhibition, as well as the original work, from which the exhibition was derived and which is on display at "Bait Rishonim", were commissioned by Mayor Effie Stenzler, for the citys residents and guests, as an outdoor gallery that tells the story of Givatayims city.
Production - Givatayim Municipality / Department of Education, Culture and Sports
