בקיץ 1933, במלאת שנה לעלייה על הקרקע ניתן שם לקיבוץ: גבעת חיים - על-שם חיים ארלוזורוב. ביישוב כבר היו 120 חברים, 16 ילדים, 15 צריפים, בניין בטון אחד לילדים - והרבה אוהלים.

Tent neighborhood in the early 1930s
In the summer of 1933, one year after the aliyah on the ground the kibbutz was given a name: Givat Haim - after Haim Arlozorov. The community already had 120 members, 16 children, 15 barracks, one concrete building for children - and lots of tents.
