בשכונת אגרובנק לאורך רחוב חנקין הקים הצבא הבריטי מחנה צבאי גדול. כדי לעזור בהגנה על הישוב הביאו הבריטים נוטרים מתל אביב לעזור בעבודות ההגנה.

In the Agrobank neighborhood along Hankin Street, the British army established a large military camp. To help protect the settlement, the British brought back from Tel Aviv Notrim (guards) to help with the defense.
