BackgroundThe beginning of the ecological botanical garden in Abu Kabir was in the fifties of the twentieth century, when Tel Aviv University was established in Abu Kabir in 1953 and in it the "University Institute of Natural Sciences".
The botanical garden was founded by Professor Yaakov Galil
Professor of Botany and one of the founders of Tel Aviv University.
The garden contains only plants that grow in the Land of Israel, and is divided according to the habitats in the Land of Israel: lowland, mountain, coast, desert, etc.
About the signs
The signs are made of metal, are on a pole and are rectangular in shape.
Each sign shows the name of the tree in 3 languages (Hebrew, Arabic and English), an illustration of the tree and its fruit, its scientific name, the family of the plant, and a general description
