Background
A type of signs that are usually found at the entrance to cities / neighborhoods / special sites. And what they have in common is the sentence "I love the place", when usually the word love is replaced by a heart icon.
This type of sign began as an advertising campaign designed to bring tourists to New York City in the United States. In 1977, the Wells, Rich, Greene advertising agency came up with the slogan: I ❤ NY (designed by Milton Glaser), the original drawing is now on display at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
The slogan caught on, and many imitations sprung up in many parts of the world.
About the signs
The signs are usually on the ground, and often mark the entrance to the settlement. They are made of stone or metal, perpendicular to the ground, and large in size. In Jerusalem there is one sign in the form of a video display
In most of them the word love appears in the form of a heart icon, and surprisingly, even in places where the dominant language is not English, the text is written in English
,
, however there are texts in Hebrew
and in Arabic
