THE AUDIENCE
Redemption? because they loved me? or loved me in my words intelligent faces soulful pricked for the poetry
And that night a woman came in a dream Indian or black aging alone the phrase "ghosts in her eyes" "Im a perfect case for attention," she said So I was listening to her words pained dry fretful driven writing them down for the poetry that disappears She seemed flattered not realizing the flat of the language its tundra I was flattered too not realizing her own need simply to speak "Loaves of bread," she said
The next morning I saw loaves were love risen their faces amazed that we know someone in dreams wandering in tundra redeemed
Berklee’s poetry Walk was laid in October 2003 along Edison Street between Shattuck and Milvia Streets. The route includes 128 metal plates with excerpts from songs, each of which is related in one way or another to the city of Berkeley.
The current sign features a song by Richard Silberg. It is possible that this is a Berkeley resident who teaches drama in schools in the city.
