Known for his writing that caused controversy in the Israeli public, in particular the play "Queen of the Bath" which presented the political situation after the Six Day War, and included much criticism of Israel’s pride after the war. After demonstrations and protests, the show was dropped after only a month and a half. Hanoch Levin wrote about 62 plays, he also wrote many poems. Won the Bialik Prize for Fine Literature (1994).
