יוסף ריבלין תקצ"ז - תרנ"ו
יליד ירושלים, מצעירותו התמסר להרחבת העיר החדשה, היה מעורב בהקמת כתריסר שכונות וכונה "רבי יושע שטעטל מאכער" "עושה השכונות".
דור רביעי לרבי הלל ריבלין שעלה לארץ ישראל עם תלמידי הגר"א בשנת תק"ע (1809).

Yossef Rivlin 1837-1896
Born in Jerusalem, Yossef Yosha Rivlin was a descendant of Rabbi Hillel Rivlin, one of the Vilna Gaon’s followers who came to Eretz Israel in 1809. Dedicated to the development of New Jerusalem, he was involved in the establishment of some dozen neighborhoods and was known as "Rabbi Yosha the shtetl macher" (neighborhood builder).

נולד בצפת, בילדותו נתייתם מאביו, אמו נישאה לרב בנימין מרדכי נבון שגידלו וטיפחו כבנו. בתרכ"ט (1869) נבחר לראש אב בית דין צדק בירושלים. ובתרנ"ג (1893) כראשון לציון וחכם באשי, כיהן עד פטירתו. שכונת גבעת שאול נושאת את שמו. במלאות 100 שנה לפטירתו הונפק בול עליו מדבריו : " אילו חיינו - יחד - באגודה אחת באחווה שלום ורעות "...

The Rishon LeZion Ya’akov Shaul Eliashar Yis’a Beraha 1817-1906
Born in Safed and orphaned at an early age, Rabbi Eliashar was raised by his step-father, Rabbi Benyamin Mordehai Navon, as his own. He was appointed head of the Jerusalem Religious Courts in 1869 and Rishon LeZion and Hakham Bashi (Chief Sage) in 1893.
The modern area of Giv’at Shaul is named in his memory. On the centennial of his passing a stamp was issued with the (his) expression "would that we lived together as a united society in brotherhood, peace and friendship...".
