Translation of the text on the sign: THE LITERARY STOCKHOLM
The evening of the lamp; the drop of the brass faucet old Köket, Maria Trappgränd. The tram screeches and howls Hornsgatan’s hump, and my uncle is just coming in through the door—the hat Bent down in the shadows of the forties: in his excited hands, Gunder just runs to the finish line at the Stadium; the windows light up on the other side of the street, and he shakes off the outer evening, filled with gloom and rain, and hangs it dripping on a gallows, straightens his hair with his fingers, and walks half-drunk across the floor.
From the poetry collection "Elegy over a Saturday night in the south" 1962 By GÖSTA FRIBERG. b 1936
There are often autobiographical elements in Gösta Friberg’s poetry and prose. The Södermalm of his childhood is of great importance in his poetry. As a child he lived on Nedre Ragvaldsgatan, which today is called Pustegränds and in the poem is named Maria Trappgrand.
